"Freud, in 1895 its" Project for a Scientific Psychology ", tried to join the emerging science of psychoanalysis with the Neuroscience of his time. But that was a hundred years ago, when we knew only the neurons and their description, and Freud was forced - by lack of relevant knowledge - to abandon his project. We had to wait many decades before having access on data that were needed to Dr. Sigmund Freud, and which are now at our disposal. After many years, the contemporary allows the Neurosciences resumption of searches for correlations between these two disciplines. " --
Arnold Z. Pfeffer

The neuroscientist are searching for the first time these complex psychological problems, and still have much to learn from a century of psychotherapy research. The need for a sustainable rapprochement between scientific researchers and clinicians is essential to learn about each other and enhance the knowledge and insights on issues of mutual interest.
