Snakes on a Plane...The title says it all. Every once in a while a movie is produced that has a title that is worth its weight in gold. JAWS...ANACONDA...ARACHNAPHOBIA...you get the point...
On August 18 th the Snakes will hit theaters near you...The infamous THEY says that the # 1 fear among Americans is public speaking. I don't believe that. I took my own unofficial poll...I ask 10 people what they would rather do... Give a speech or pick up a snake...10 for 10 said give a speech.
I first heard of this soon to be released project from my daughter M, a college student in New York. She and a group of her friends went to X Men III and went wild with enthusiasm over the previews for Snakes on a Plane. Her group actually applauded.
My forecast is a tremendous success for the producers, New Line Cinema and Samuel L. Jackson. The viral Internet marketing on this movie has already begun.
Jackson plays an FBI agent escorting a Mafia witness on an over the ocean flight . In order to keep the witness from testifying, a box of Snakes( estimated at 400) is released on the flight. Your imagination can tell you the rest of the story.
The cult following will be tremendous. The box office may be slow, but the DVD sales will be solid and I predict a Video Game just in time for the pre Christmas 2006 rush.
