Services for people with Aspergers/Autism

Nua Healthcare, as part of our ongoing quality improvement guidelines have purpose designed a training program for social care workers in Asperger
Syndrome Autism.

The course was written by Edward Dunne, Managing Director in conjunction with Shane Kenny, regional manager. The content is specifically geared
towards supporting individuals with Autism Syndrome in a residential setting.Topics covered in the training program address sensory integration issues,
imaginative difficulties and communication issues. All staff have been trained in this course to date. We are hoping to eventually get the course
accredited under FETAC and have it included in our in house degree program for social care workers. Nua Healthcare feel that this initiative will significantly improve the
quality of services received by Autistic clients.
