Under armour apparel are high tech,
breathable, wicking clothing worn by athletes. They are designed for the heat
and cold and all other sorts of weather conditions. It is important that you
clean them as they are mostly used while playing in heat and dirt which causes
sweating. Although these garments provide protection for the moment, if
unwashed they can gather bacteria, fungi and sweat, giving them foul odour and
stains. You can choose to wash them by hand or in a washer. The material’s
wicking and thin natures allow them to dry fast. If you are planning on washing
them by hand, these instructions might be useful.
Use cold water to maintain the
original colour of the under armour. By adding a little bit of baking soda into
the water, you can get rid of any odour. Make sure to rinse well to get rid of
all the soap and gently squeeze it dry. If you wring in tightly, the material
can change its shape. You can choose to dry the material in air or the sun.
Using a dryer on low heat is also possible but drying them naturally would
prevent all risks of the garment losing its shape, becoming too coarse or
damaging the hi-tech synthetic fabric. Make sure not to use fabric softeners or
dryer sheets as they can quicken the wearing process of the material. Make sure
you do not use harsh detergents or soaps.
If you are using a washer to clean the
under armour, then put them in the washer without adding clashing colours
together. Add detergent powder or a soft liquid and turn it to cold setting and
put it on a gentle cycle. Never use bleach or fabric softener. Find in your
supermarket the cleaning agent for stains, that has minimum chemicals. Dry the
clothing in warm air or cold air. When you wear your under armour the next time
make sure to rinse it in cold water, right after you wear them. Do not leave
them about to gather dust or odour. While it is still wet, place it in a
washing machine. Mix baking soda or vinegar into the water and wash in cold
water. Use tumble or air to dry the garment. Always wash them separately to
avoid tearing, damaging and to wash them to suit the nature of the material,
which is different from normal clothing. If you have no choice but to wash them
with the rest of the clothes, keep in mind to put them in a mesh or an apparel
bag. Maintaining these under armour in healthy conditions is beneficial for you,
just as much as wearing them.
