Influence of regions and religions on Indian food 

Indian food and its taste are well known all over the world. The Indian cuisine is well recognized and rich one. It is famous for its delicate distinctiveness. The Indian cuisine is considered as one of the most variant cuisines in the whole of the world. There are influences from religion and invasions. This has created a large variety of assortment to Indian dishes and its cooking methods. The Indian cuisine is a good example of the ethnicity of the country. The real concept of Indian food itself has changed which is considered as an essential one.

The modern cuisine of India is greatly developed from the various religious beliefs and cultural heritage of the place. This shows that the diversity found in every field of life is developing and improving greatly. The subcontinents have made an inter cultural collaboration which has greatly made its effect on the Indian cuisine. The cooking style and even the items used in cooking shows that religion has a lot to do in it. From the time various religions were commenced they have influenced our cuisines.

The evolvement of vegetarian and non vegetarian foods has come from the religious effects. The Aryan cooking method is mainly followed by the Hindu community of the country. On the other hand the Muslims started to follow the cooking methods of the Mughals. The Mughlai cooking style is that of preparing the kabas, rich gravy Kormas, koftas, tandoor items like roti, naan and the rogan josh. The tandoor items are prepared from the famous clay oven called the tandoor which is a traditional item of the Mughals. The Christians in our country came from the different missionaries formed and they added a different flavor and taste to the Indian cuisine. Jains are another group who has greatly influenced our food habits.

Jains do not eat vegetables that are grown underground. They only prefer to eat foods that grow on trees and that are ripe. Two major cultures that have greatly affected Indian cuisines are the Hindus and Muslims. Thus we can say that Indian cooking is totally a blend of different contributions. Together with these there have been contributions made from Portugal, British and Persian people who came to India as visitors or invaders. In the long run of journey came across many cultures and heritage has changed the overall outlook of India along with the cooking style. Invasions that happened in different times of the Indian history have also greatly affected the cuisine. Among them the most famous ones were Aryans, Mongols, Persians and the Chinese. Different restaurants in the country serve foods in different variations of cuisines which makes it all the more interesting and unique.
